The annual American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting is next week, December 12-16 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Three RSS scientists will be presenting posters of their work. If you are planning on attending this years meeting, please consider stopping by the following sessions in the Moscone South Poster Hall on Thursday, December 15th and Friday, December 16th:
Thursday AM Session (8:00am-12:20pm): Carl Mears
Poster A41H-0148. Title: Orbital and Sampling Strategies for Accurately Determining the Diurnal Cycle of Upper-Air Temperature Using a Constellation of Small Satellites
See the abstract here
Or, view the full poster here
Thursday PM Session (1:40-6:00pm): Lucrezia Ricciardulli
Poster A43H-0341. Title: Tropical Cyclones Wind Measurements with the SMAP L-Band Radiometer
See the abstract here
Or, view the full poster here
Friday PM Session (1:40-6:00pm): Thomas Meissner
Poster OS53A-2093. Title: Recent advances in the Salinity Retrieval Algorithms for Aquarius and SMAP
See the abstract here
Or, view the full poster here
Additionally, Thomas and RSS Director Frank Wentz are coauthors on a poster in the Friday PM session that will be presented by Oleg Malnichenko from the University of Hawaii at Manoa:
Poster OS53A-2096. Title: Building a Consistent Long-Term SSS Data Record from Multi-Satellite Measurements: A Case Study in the Eastern Tropical Pacific (SPURS-2)
See the abstract here
Lastly, on Tuesday, December 16th from 11:15-11:30am , Dr. Eric Lindstrom from NASA will be giving a presentation at the NASA Hyperwall on Ocean Salinity that will include data produced here at Remote Sensing Systems. Ocean Salinity is measured primarily by the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) and Aquarius satellites. SMAP salinity is produced here at RSS, while Aquarius salinity is produced by NASA Goddard using an algorithm developed here. The hyperwall will be located at NASA's booth in the Exhibit Hall at Moscone North, booth #535.
We hope to see many of you next week!
